On Thursday 1st October 2015 WWDA presented a webinar on the topic of violence against women with disabilities. The webinar was convened by 1800RESPECT – Australia’s National Sexual Assault, Domestic Family Violence Counselling Service.
Entitled ‘Understanding Violence Against Women With Disability’, the presentation and discussion provided an overview of the scope and prevalence of violence against women with disability, violence against women with disability in a human rights framework, barriers to addressing violence for women with disability and how we can best address the issues around gendered disability violence.
The webinar was written by Carolyn Frohmader (WWDA Executive Director) and Sam Connor (WWDA Policy Director) and presented by Sam on behalf of WWDA.
