Right now, the disability community is going through a difficult time. Some people are taking out their anger and frustration on others in the community, especially on social media.

Australia’s Disability Representative Organisations (DROs) have issued a joint statement condemning lateral violence within the disability community. The statement highlights the harmful impact of this behaviour, and says that this kind of violence is never acceptable.

Let’s not let anger and frustration tear us apart. Instead, let’s support one another as we work together to advocate for positive change.

The joint statement has been endorsed by the 12 Disability Representative Organisations, demonstrating a collective commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all people with disabilities.

We all deserve to feel safe and respected.
