The Government has made changes to the laws about the NDIS. This means there will be changes to the NDIS in the coming weeks and months.
We know that there is a lot of concern in our community about these changes. We have been talking to the Government about these concerns, and will continue to advocate for an NDIS that meets the needs of our community.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will share the information that we receive about the changes to the NDIS. This is so that our community knows what is happening and how it might impact them.
We will also keep telling the Government and the NDIA about what our community needs.
When the new laws come into effect next month, there will be changes to:
- how eligibility is assessed
- the supports that can be funded by the NDIS
- how plans are managed
- how funding is allocated and needs to be spent
- requirements for information gathering for eligibility reassessment.
The NDIA will provide information on the NDIS website (opens in a new window) and on social media. There is also a table on the NDIS website that has a summary of what is changing and when it will change. The NDIA will be contacting NDIS participants, representatives and providers. They will give more information about the changes, and when they are happening.
