This week WWDA Board Member Karin Swift will be presenting at the Disability Arts and Cultural Network International (WWDACN) Conference in Seoul, Korea. With representatives from thirteen countries in attendance, the two day conference commemorates the 10th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD). The conference theme is ‘The promotion of the rights of women and girls with disability by [the] UN CRPD’.
Karin will be presenting on a paper co-authored with Carolyn Frohmader entitled Using a Holistic Human Rights Framework to Advance the Rights of Women and Girls with Disability. The paper highlights how WWDA uses a holistic human rights framework to advance the rights, needs, and issues facing women with disability in Australia and across the world.
